Alii everyone I love so much!
This week I have really been focusing on the role of the Holy Ghost in conversion with my investigators. In Alma 19:6 it talks about how the spirit of the lord literally pushes away the veil of darkness over a person’s heart.
That is exactly what our investigators should feel as they grow and progress in the gospel. All that confusion or sins of their past life, all that darkness should be taken away and all that should be left is the light of Christ.
It is truly an amazing thing and something I have found really hard to express to people as I teach because it is such a personal and intimate thing that happens between them and their Heavenly Father.
I have really just tried to follow my own promptings from the spirit to guide what I say in lessons because only with the power of the Holy Ghost can I truly know what Heavenly Father wants these people to hear so they can have that true conversion by the spirit.
As I have done this I have seen such a change in my investigators and they are truly starting to become converted to the gospel and all that darkness that was in them is now being replaced with light and joy.
So this week has been pretty frustrating!
Our investigators, Genesis and Destiny are preparing for baptism this week on the 26th and Destiny is ready but Genesis is still smoking and chewing! OLEK man it is so hard to beat something like that. He does want to change though which is awesome and each day he is doing a little better so we just keeping helping him and encouraging him so hopefully he will be ready for this Saturday!
We have also started to study with some of the other little kids that live with Genesis which has been awesome! They are all so cool and already have such a strong connection to the Book of Mormon! Like when we come to visit we always find them already sitting and reading their Book of Mormons which is just so heartwarming!
We are going to invite all of them to baptism today except for one named Louis because he is only 7, but he turns 8 in June! I love these kids.
Destiny and Louis also came to church on Sunday and participated in the primary program! And they are not even baptized! It literally made me cry I was so happy. It just goes to show how willing the church is to accept new people in the church; because we ALL just love everyone and everyone wants them to be happy! It was the best!
All the kids also wanted me to draw them superheroes which was way awesome! Destiny wanted Arrow, Iverson wanted the Flash and Axley wanted Wolverine!
They actually loved them so much that they are having me draw even more for them! Haha I have to draw 2 Jesus’s, 2 Celestial Kingdoms, 3 Superman’s, and 2 Batman’s! Who knew I would have a full time art gig on my mission! Haha it is just awesome! I love these people so much. I cannot wait for you all to meet them!
Oh yeah I also got my official Palauan name! It is Sils which means sun.
Cool right!
That about does it for this week! Hope you enjoyed!
Love you all!
