Alii everyone I love with all my heart!
Last night, Elder Striplin and his new trainee arrived in Palau.
It feels like just yesterday… I was the new missionary coming in, and now I am watching new missionaries arrive. The tables turn really quick when you are on your mission!
With two new missionaries being on Palau, we now have two districts, and one zone. I am now a part of the first ever Babel doab District. Which consists of four missionaries, Elder Climer and I, and Elder Striplin and Elder Jensen.
Guam was super fun! I got to hang out with Elder Bush and eat Wendy’s for the first time in 7 months. It was just as good as I remember! Although, it was not quite the same as all those wonderful Wendy’s trips I took with Mom.
We also had some awesome training from President Zarbock. He taught about how Sunday is for sinners. A lot of people think they have to be perfect to go to church. Like if they make a mistake they are no longer worthy to go to church. His training was all about how we can help our investigators understand that the reason we go to church is because we are imperfect. We go to church to partake of the sacrament and allow Christ’s atonement to work in our lives, so we can be made clean. I feel this message is really going to help here in Palau; considering we have a lot of less active members.
The work is going good. “L” is struggling to come to church. She still really wants to be baptized. She lives in what is now Elder Striplin’s area. So sadly, I will not be teaching her anymore. I love that family so much and I pray that the next time I see them; they will be dressed in white with smiles on their faces.
We are working with a really awesome lady named “J”, who was actually almost baptized in 2001. But then 9/11 happened, and her life got really crazy. She was never baptized, but always held onto her testimony that the Book of Mormon is true. So when we knocked on her door, she saw it as a sign from God, that she had unfinished business: and now was the time for her to follow our savior into the waters of baptism. She is so great! I am excited for her! She gave us pizza; so she is pretty much already my BFF haha.
I love you all so much and I hope you have a wonderful week.
Love,
Elder Rupp
