Alii!

I hope everyone has had a good week!

This week was a little rough, but we are still staying strong in the faith.

“Alii everyone! What’s up? This is Elder Furry! My computer isn’t working right now… so I just wanted to drift over to Elder Rupp’s PC and say hello!”

Last Monday was spent on Guam, and it was awesome! We played a great game of dodgeball, then visited a cave, and then a cliff-side!

Guam is very beautiful and I am thankful for the time I get to spend there each month. One of the best things is that I also get to see my friends, Elder Hendershot, Elder Perez, Elder Malupo, and Elder Herndon! I always have a blast with those Elders!

We arrived back on Palau late Monday evening; on Tuesday, I went on exchanges with Elder Jenson. I love Elder Jenson! He is so funny and is an awesome missionary! While we were at a door speaking with a nice woman, a dog came out of nowhere and bit Elder Jenson on the foot! Not to worry, he is fine. The dog just nipped him, but you should have seen his face! It was priceless.

Elder Call has been very sick this past week. We have not been able to teach much this week, maybe only two or three lessons each day. Elder Jenson and Elder Furry have been helping us out. One of them will go with me and the other will stay with Elder Call.

Missionary work is sometimes very hard. Occasionally I find myself feeling down, and asking myself what is the point… Nobody wants to listen! Nobody cares! Right in that moment, the spirit always comes to me and whispers… “Why would it ever be easy for you? If it was never easy for him.” Like Elder Holland said during our recent meeting, “the road to salvation always passes through Gethsemane”.

I know missionary work is hard, however, it is the best work, and it will always be worth it! We came to this life to learn and to grow, and we cannot progress if we do not face opposition. I love trials and setbacks because I know that each is another opportunity, disguised to help me to become like my Savior, and the man Our Father in Heaven wants me to be.

This church is true. It is such a great day!

I love you all! keep smiling!

Elder Rupp
