Alii sechelik!
Hey, Hey, everyone that I love with all my heart!
I hope you all have had the best week ever! My week was action packed with awesomeness and serving our wonderful Father in Heaven.
There is quite a lot to get into, so let’s going…
MONDAY
Monday was awesome! We went up to the beach and hung out all “P” day! We played football, and frisbee. Ate fish, did back flips, and buried ourselves in the sand. I also slept in a hammock for about 2 hours so that was pretty sweet! The day was just awesome.
TUESDAY
Tuesday was also awesome! We met with our Elders Quorum President; to help him get the Home Teaching program started back up. Palau has not had Home Teaching in a very long time. We feel that is a big reason why our branch is not growing.
Palau has a lot of less active members, and they really do not like to talk to the missionaries. We feel that through the actual members going to see them that they will be more favorable to the idea of coming back to church. And in the process those members who are doing the home teaching will have their testimony strengthened. It will help them create friendships with other members, which in due time will create a much stronger branch here in Palau.
So we assisted our Elders Quorum President in putting together the Home Teachers assignments of who will be seeing who.
Also on Tuesday, our investigator “R” who we have been working with for a while finally got work off on Sunday’s so he can come to church. “R” has really grown to have a strong testimony and has no problem with the word of wisdom or the law of chastity. He is golden! I know he will be baptized and I am so excited for him.
WEDNESDAY
Wednesday was awesome too! (see a pattern?) So Palau has been in a serious drought for the last few months. We only have water for two hours each night. But through much prayer and fasting it finally began to rain on Wednesday; and it has been raining on and off since then! Truly an answer to our prayers. We really need it to continue to rain, because if the drought gets bad enough the Church Leaders will pull all missionaries off the island of Palau. We cannot let that happen! So please keep Palau in your prayers.
I also met a Filipino man on Wednesday… And HE WOULD NOT LET ME TALK! EVERYTIME I WOULD TESTIFY HE WOULD JUST TALK OVER ME. IT MADE ME SO MAD HE DID NOT WANT TO LISTEN TO US it is okay though… I still love him!
Also people kept giving us books on Wednesday filled with false doctrine; it was really weird.
THURSDAY
Thursday we had district meeting. Since there are only four Elders in my district we usually have the meeting at one of our houses. This week we had it at our house and guess what? We have a ton of extra mattresses in our house, so we built a huge fort and had the district meeting in it. THAT IS RIGHT WE HAD DISTRICT MEETING IN A FORT! It was so fun! BABELDAOB DISTRICT BABY!
FRIDAY
We had weekly planning and then we went to this house… Where this guy threatened to kill us with his machete, if we ever came back to his home. Yeah, not going to go into detail about that one because it will probably freak mom out! ha-ha We are all good though… Not a scratch on us!
SATURDAY
Saturday I went on exchanges with Elder Jenson and it was so fun. We went and performed some service at a taro patch. We cut down huge bushes with machetes and it was raining; so it is safe to say we felt pretty hardcore! ha-ha
Do you remember “J”? He was an investigator in my last area that we were teaching. “J” is now scheduled for baptism this Saturday so please keep him in your prayers.
SUNDAY
Sunday I got to go to Church with our group up in Babeldaob. This group used to just have only about three to six people attend each week. But recently, it has been over twenty attendees every week. This week it had twenty-six people! It is amazing our little group is growing!
Also, Richard came to church and he loved it!
Well that is my week. I hope you enjoyed hearing about it.
I know this church is true with all my heart, and I love serving these wonderful people every day.
I hope you all have an amazing week!
I love you all!
Elder Rupp
