Alii everyone I love with all my heart!
I hope you have all had an amazing week and that you all had a great Thanksgiving!
So yes, in Palau, they do celebrate Thanksgiving; because Palau was colonized by America.
I had a great Thanksgiving. The Kasoli’s had all the missionaries over and we had a big feast! We had all the normal Thanksgiving food, plus some rice and this awesome mac and cheese with tuna in it! (that was my fav!) Overall it was a really nice Thanksgiving and I had a great time and ate a ton! Haha.
While the eating part of Thanksgiving was fun the teaching part was definitely not! Everyone was having huge parties for the most part, they were out of sorts. Which meant we could not teach them. They would yell at us… a lot! Let’s just say I am not looking forward to teaching on Christmas!
Speaking of Christmas Mom would love Christmas time here! The whole island goes CRAZY. There are Christmas decorations and lights, EVERYWHERE! It is so cool and pretty! The only part I do not like is that a lot of the signs say Merry Xmas which is so dumb, because that takes Christ out of Christmas, which is the best part of Christmas!
My Palauan is Malungil! I can pretty much just talk now and say and teach almost everything I want to convey. We have a mastery sheet we have to fill out and complete. Mine should be finished in the next few weeks. I am so excited, and I just love this language so much. I am thankful for all the help I have received from my Heavenly Father in learning this language.
Speaking the language has also opened up many more doors for us as missionaries. Many more people are listening to us now because they are just so astonished that these two white boys are speaking their language! It is funny and awesome that we have many more people to teach now, because we have spoken to them in their own language! I have such a testimony of language now. It truly is the key to the heart.
Well um I do not know what else to say ha-ha…
Oh, I started going to a gym on the beach in the morning which is pretty cool. (trying to make myself a little less skinny.)
I shaved my head again… I guess that is cool?
I hope you all have a great week!
Ak betik a renguk er kemiu!
Until Next Week!
Love Elder Rupp
